Making The Right Decision on Choosing a Website Hosting Provider can be frustrating and complicated. But following some simple steps will make choosing the right website hosting company much easier.

I can remember back in 2000 when I first started a website on the Internet. I really did not know who I should go with.

I looked into my local ISP and found their prices I felt to high and services provided to limited for my needs. So I started looking on the Internet. I did a search for budget website hosting and a list showed up on the search engine.

After going through many website hosting listings I finally found what I was looking for.

Steps you should take to find a good website hosting company.

Step 1. Shop around on prices. Website hosting prices varies quite a bit by companies. So I suggest looking around for the best price possible for what your in need of.

Step 2. Do a search on that website hosting provider that has your interest. See if their are any complaints and if so, were they answered accordingly and just fully?

Step 3. Make sure the website hosting company that has your interest lists their contact information. This will help weed out the cronies.

Step 4. See if the company that provided the website hosting services offered provides a phone number.

Step 5. Check and see if the hosting provider provides chat support. Although this is not always necessary it is a nice feature.

Step 6. Make sure that the website hosting provider provides a up time guarantee. A up time guarantee is very important to your website. If your site is down your loosing visitors and possible sales. What a up time guarantee provides you with is, if the site is down for x amount of time you will be refunded for that month of hosting services.

Step 7. Check and see if the website hosting company provides email support or some sort of help desk to answer your questions like how to set up email accounts with outlook express, accessing your control panel to your website, ftp and other commonly asked questions.

Step 8. Once you have decided on a provider for hosting.
It is time to choose a website hosting package that is suitable to your business.

Most websites are under 500MB of web space and typically 1gig of bandwidth is norm. If your website is going to have video, you will more than likely need more megabytes and bandwidth to handle your videos and the users coming to your website. Although if your just starting the website, 500MB and 1gig of bandwidth will be a may be a good start. This will all depend upon the content you upload on the server. Remember you can always upgrade your website hosting package. Going small before going big will save you a lot of money upfront and over time.

There are many extras that are usually provided by website hosting companies like number of MySql databases, number of add on domains, number of email accounts, number of auto responders and much more. When choosing your package make sure that these extras are suitable to your needs. If not you may have to go with a different website hosting package.

Step 9. Secure Checkout
When you purchase your hosting make sure that the website hosting provider has a way for you to securely purchase the website hosting package. This is typically done by a secure gateway with a merchant provider like Pay Pal, Google Check Out, Authorize net and many more.
