The Changing Face Of Vacations – What Can You Try That Is Different This Year?
For many of us we are only lucky enough to have one main two week family type holiday a year but because of the changing face of the holiday market even this has changed from how it used to be. Traditionally most people would take their holidays in July or the first two weeks in August but more and more people are booking their holiday on-line, direct with the destination and then booking their flight on-line through a low cost air line, this makes the whole holiday booking experience more flexible as you can surf the net at your leisure to find a destination that best suits your time frame and requirements.
The face of holidaying is also changing as we are now taking more and more weekend breaks, again mostly through low cost airlines. These weekends away eat into our holiday allowance and mean that we have less time for a full two week beach holiday that we traditionally used to take. To try to combat this a few years ago the holiday company introduced the two or three location holiday, a great idea in theory as you get to stay at up to three different locations on the one holiday but in reality it meant that you spend half of your holiday traveling between destinations and getting used to your surroundings before jetting back off home.
One of the more successful ventures by the holiday companies is the re-branding of the cruise market. Cruise holidays are becoming more and more popular each year as they are no longer seen as the stuffy and formal holidays that they used to be. A cruise holiday used to be the preserve of the older generation who enjoyed dressing up for lunch and an evening meal with the captain but the market has changed greatly over the past few years and now a cruise holiday is a lot less formal affair.
Travel companies have also used their initiative and tried to attract the tourist who may not either want to spend a two week holiday aboard a cruise ship or may not have the holiday time left to spend two weeks at sea and they have created the mini cruise. This is the same as a normal cruise, using the same ship etc but may only be for three or four nights. These can give you a great taste for whether a cruise holiday is for you as well as giving you the added advantage of seeing a few new places along the way.
Marmaris in Turkey is a very popular destination for a mini cruise, with a Marmaris mini cruise being both enjoyable and affordable to many people. Marmaris enjoys a great all year round climate so taking a Marmaris mini cruise at any time of the year always a pleasant affair. If you have never tried a cruise before and have been in two minds about whether you would enjoy it or whether it would be for you then a Marmaris mini cruise could be just the vacation for you.
Another benefit of a mini cruise is that you can almost treat it as a weekend break if you get your timings correct, this way you do not eat into so much of your annual holiday allotment and hopefully leave yourself enough free vacation days to take a full cruise as your two week vacation.
