some standard characteristics and, if so, what are the most common
ones?
The dictionary defines successful as:
*having a favorable outcome, or
*having obtained something desired or intended, or
*having achieved financial success or eminence
When applied to a home business, I think the nitty-gritty of the
word successful involves a combination of financial gain, time
flexibility, and being in a position to call your own shots (being your
own boss). The bulk of the weight relevance varies from person to
person.
I have had the rightful allowance to be extremely successful with
home-based internet businesses. No, that is not completely
accurate, I have had success because, and this you should know, have invested a combination of time and sweat equity in my work at home business activities.
Having plugged away for many a year in the corporate world, I am a firm
believer in group effort, coupled with the aspect of business, and so I naturally
gravitated toward networking instead of making a go of it
all by myself selling products/services and competing with the big leaguers
like Yahoo, Amazon and the other big dogs on the block.
After doing extensive research, I set up a very well
organized and financially sound internet-based company to work
with. Using my business experience in the "offline world" and
developing my internet marketing skills with real life experience, using an OJT (aka: on-the-job-training) format, things have actually gone very well for me and my team, and
I recently put in some time trying to identify some of the primary
traits that are common with my most prosperous team players.
Whether you're a parakeet, or my favorite, Labrador retriever breeder, or drafting
college football players to play in the NFL...it's important to
develop "marketers" that can become very keen in predicting success.
From my offline and traditional business experience, I have known
this from the very beginning, however, for some reason I was slow to learn
(or, was reluctant to re-learn) that identifying the people with a high
likelihood of success is, even more chief when putting it into effect, an
online network marketing deal depends upon teamwork.
Reflecting back on the number of the truly successful folks I have
worked with in this type of marketing, I made a list of the numerous
success factors that emerged when I assessed each person
individually. Following the compilation of the list, three factors seemed to
present themselves as being the most credible success indicators. In no
particular order, these factors were:
*approaching the business from a long term standpoint. It
often takes a long time to become "successful overnight". You’re not getting in the business to make a quick buck and get out.
*exhibiting the courage of a pit bull and sincere desire.
*being able to ride the emotional roller coaster, knowing that defeat is only temporary defeat, meaning a lesson learned, in the early stages of developing the business
Now, knowing you are a person that has all or most of these characteristics, does not
guarantee success, on the other hand, a person is not necessarily
destined to fail if they don't have all of them either.
The most important thing to remember is this; if something you try doesn't work, you don't quit, you try something else. Quitters never win, and winners never quit. (Write that down and stick it where you can see it easily and repeat it every day) You keep trying until you find something that works. If it works just a little bit, then you tweak it to see if it works better, and so on and so on. Remember that Edison "failed" temporarily 10,000 times before he developed a working light bulb. Take this advice and you won't have to go through the same process, I guarantee it.
