You can ensure you get good, name brand hardware which will have proper manufacturer support and driver support that your require.
Price
In most cases, you will find equally priced and comparable computer system available, where one is pre-built and the other one would be home-built. You can also buy PCs cheaper than you can build them, but when you consider the hardware choices within, the price will be in favor of home-built. You can opt for pre-built PC if you are a busy person else you can opt for the home built PC.
Warranty
On pre-built systems, there would be warranty on the whole system and service plan at the time of purchase. Home built computers do not have full system warranties like per built, but if you buy good name brand hardware, most of the components will themselves have warranties.
Pre-built systems often come with much software on it and especially the operating system itself. But on the flip side, these PCs sometimes come with too much software, which might not be required by you.
